Scrap Conveyor Systems

Precision engineered by Goessling USA

When your operation depends on the efficient handling of scrap material, a scrap conveyor system from Goessling USA provides the critical transfer efficiency needed for numerous systems and applications.  Goessling’s offers a variety of scrap conveyor systems, custom designed and manufactured to meet our client’s specific needs.  Goessling’s precision systems support the conveying of parts of all sizes and temperatures.  Let our design department partner with you to design the right solution for your application.

While any scrap conveyor system would be customized to our clients specific needs, below is an example of several typical types of scrap conveyors utilizing different types of drive systems including rollers, belts, magnetic, vibratory and more.  Click below to review the details of each system and contact us to discuss your specific application needs.

Stamped Scrap Disposal / Conveyor Systems

Goessling has been designing and building complete scrap handling and distribution systems for over 30 years. Hinged belt segments are made of cold-rolled, high strength sheet steel and are always one solid piece over the total effective width of the belt (available in widths up to 72”), eliminating gaps for the material being transferred to potentially get stuck. The “pimpled” belt segments are designed without protruding hinges, making the belt surface flat and smooth which aids in the prevention of fine scrap jamming in between the hinges. The use of our “PS” side-wings on both sides of the belt tighten the complete belt surface, eliminating scrap from penetrating under the belt. Machined side rails cover the top of the hinged belt side-wings, minimizing gaps to tenths of a millimeter. The belt moves on hardened flanged rollers extending the life of the belt chains while the conveyor runner system utilizes hardened steel rollers, making the complete system extremely durable. The systems utilize an open-frame design with removable side panels simplifying maintenance and service requirements. Several options are available for use in conjunction with the system such as top covers, oil pans, lubrication oilers, emergency cords, balers, weighing systems and brushing systems, just to name a few.

Heavy-Duty Scrap Conveyors

Goessling Heavy-duty Scrap Conveyors are used for transporting everything from large stampings from underneath automotive stamping presses to heavy cast iron parts, hot forgings, and even shredder scrap (just to name a few). The segments are made of highly resistant cold rolled steel and are always one solid piece over the total effective width of the belt (available in widths up to 72”) , eliminating gaps for the scrap material being transferred to potentially get stuck. They are constructed out of cold-rolled, high strength sheet steel, which can be solid or at the customer’s request, supplied with round, square or slotted perforations, which are ideal for washing, de-oiling or quenching applications.

Medium/Heavy Duty Scrap Conveyors

Goessling T-60 Hinged Belt Conveyors (referred to as a “Medium/Heavy duty Stahlboy”), are commonly used for transporting metal stamping scrap. They utilize hinged segments made of cold-rolled, high strength sheet steel, which can be solid or at the customer’s request, supplied with round, square or slotted perforations, which are ideal for oily applications. The hinged belt segments are made of highly resistant cold rolled steel and are always one solid piece over the total effective width of the belt, eliminating gaps for scrap being transferred to potentially get stuck. Another key design feature of our hinged belt conveyors is the use of “machined” side rails in the conveyor feeding section. These side rails cover the top of the hinged belt side-wings, minimizing gaps, which again deters scrap material from getting stuck and possibly jamming the conveyor drive motor. The use of our “PS” side-wings will further minimize these gaps to tenths of a millimeter.

Light/Medium Duty Scrap and Chip Conveyors

The Goessling T-40 Hinged Belt Conveyors (commonly referred to as “Light/Medium-duty Stahlboy”), are typically used for transporting stamping scrap. However, they are also effective in the transport of metal chips and shavings from CNC and milling machine applications. They utilize hinged segments made of cold-rolled, high strength sheet steel, which can be solid (or at the customer’s request), supplied with round, square or slotted perforations, which are ideal for applications where coolant is present. As with our other hinged belt conveyors, they are supplied with “machined” side rails, which cover the top of the hinged belt side-wings, minimizing gaps, where scrap or chips can tend to get stuck and possibly jam the conveyor drive motor. Our “PS” side-wings further minimize these gaps to tenths of a millimeter. At the customer’s request, these conveyors can be supplied with slip clutches, guarding, drain connections, and for chip applications coolant separators with electric pumps for returning the coolant.
